Summer School in Astrophysics and Cosmology
"Through the Milky Way into the Universe": a summer school for students, organised by the Council of Young Scientists at the Main Astronomical Observatory of the NAS of Ukraine together with SISSA (International School for Advanced Studies).

The school brings students from Ukrainian higher education institutions together with researchers for several days of lectures on current work in extragalactic astronomy and cosmology, alongside time for discussion and networking.
The third edition took place on 24 to 26 August 2026 in Kyiv, at the Main Astronomical Observatory on Acad. Zabolotny Street, with places for about 30 participants. Travel grants and accommodation were available for selected participants. In a country living with blackouts, one practical detail says a lot: the venue is equipped with backup power so that the programme can continue.
